Mission & Content Summary
MISSION

The aim of the course is to bring the student up to a Business B2 level, which means they can: • Understand the main points in current affairs or of personal interest. • Follow with ease a discussion in his/her field of specialization. • Understand texts written in business language. • Write basic business letters and reports • Produce a simple text about professional situations. • Convey information both written and orally • Express personal opinions and reasons.

CONTENT SUMMARY

The course is divided into core topics. Around these topics students will practice and develop the appropriate skills expected at this level.

  • Understand brief, authentic texts on familiar business topics;
  • Understand the main points, important details, and key words when people are speaking naturally;
  • Use  common structures of English appropriately to produce long and  short writtentexts.

The course takes into account the fact that the students are learning the language for use in professional situations (Business English).

  • Face-to-face lectures
  • Exercises (exercises, database, software etc.)
  • Individual assignments
  • Interactive class activities (role playing, business game, simulation, online forum, instant polls)
DETAILS
  • Face-to-face lecture: these will be conducted by the professor who is assigned to the course
  • Exercises (Exercises, database, software etc.): these will be selected at the consent of the professor  from the materials available to them
  • Individual assignments: these will be assigned by the professor during the 1st Interactive class activities : role playing and simulation activities
