Curriculum Accademico

Professor of Strategy and Organizations in the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University. Prior to that he was Associate Professor of Strategic Management at IESE Business School and Assistant Professor of Strategy and Business Policy at HEC Paris.

Marco’s research focuses on understanding mechanisms and returns to informal network relationships defined within and across organizations. In particular, Marco studies the social context of intra- and inter-organizational ties focusing on social networks, knowledge management, innovativeness, and performance.

Marco received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Administration from Carnegie Mellon University. His recent research has appeared in such journals as the Academy of Management Journal, the Annals of the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies, and European Management Journal among others. 
Marco is a member of the Editorial Board of the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal and Organization Science.

In 2019 Marco became an Associate Editor at the Academy of Management Journal

Marco has taught core Competitive Strategy courses at the MBA, Executive MBA, and Global Executive MBA level. In addition to that, he routinely teaches modules on social networks, organizational change, and strategy implementation in several in-company executive education programs.

Since 2017 he is the Associate Dean for the Masters Division at the SDA Bocconi School of Management
