Course Objectives

There is a growing evidence that optimal performance in a work environment is driven not only by technical competencies but also by self-management and behavioral skills that enable knowledge and experience to be translated into high value added results.

Continuous change in the competitive environment requires flexible organizational models that build themselves upon internal and external networks rather than on hierarchy, on being result rather than compliance oriented with people taking on personal responsibility for their own behaviors and impact, and upon continuous learning rather than on specialized knowledge.

Networks, result orientation, responsibility and continuous learning require the development of self-regulation abilities together with communication, influence, negotiation and team management skills for performance effectiveness. These are the topics on which the teaching and learning are focused.

Given the learning goals, teaching is experience-based and highly interactive. Brief theory modules are followed by experience-based learning situations to build competencies and to facilitate transfer to the class and work environment.
