MISSION
CONTENT SUMMARY
The course, teached by Marc Spiegler, former director on Art Basel, Basel Miami, Basel Paris, Basel Hong Kong, as to say the most relevant Contemporary Art Fari system at world level, deep dive into the strategic and managerial issue generated by the recent evolutions of the roles and weight of commercial actors and emerging global trends.
In the second part of the course the class will concentrate on a set of curatorial experiences, through the collective reading of a specific piece of art criticism.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- elaborate strategic and enterpreneurial proposals for market institutions in the global art field.
- have a specific knowledge of the organizational and marketing challenges for the growth of market institutions in the global art field
- develop awareness about the connections between the curatorial and critical professions and overall trajectories of cultural institutions
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- develop and present and individual project for the strategic development of an art market institution
- discuss a curatorial perspective

transfer from the instructors to the class, through a methodology that implies active participation,
involvement in specific research and assessments, dialogue with relevant actors of the system.
The students are also expected to develop their personal vision about their professional future
in the field.

ATTENDING STUDENTS
Attending students
The evaluation will consist of:
a) Group assignment. The assignment will be articulated during the course and will deal with emerging global economics trend in the Art Market.
The assignment will count for 40% of the final evaluation.
b) Final exam
The final exam will be a written, closed-book test: two questions out of three topics developed in class. The exam will count for 60% of the final evaluation.
NOT ATTENDING STUDENTS
Non-attending students are evalueted trough a written exam (2 open questions out of 3). The exam will count 100% of the final evaluation.
