Course Objectives
The main aim of the course is to help understand the main features of the current wave of globalization. After an introduction to key concepts and stylized facts of the globalization process, the course focuses on various topics highly debated in the relevant fora. In particular, it focuses on: firm heterogeneity and international trade; the effects of globalization on the spatial distribution of economic activity; the impact of international trade on wages and unemployment; labor market effects of migrations; and the role of domestic institutions on international specialization.
