Course Objectives
Through active case discussions and simulations, the course provides models aimed at forming competence on how to formulate and organize new economic projects, by constituting new entrepreneurial firms. In the second part, the course also addresses the organizational practices for infusing entrepreneurship and constituting entrepreneural units within existing firms (‘corporate entrepreneurship’). Taking an organizational perspective, the course aims at improving the students' capacity of effective, innovative decision-making and relational behaviors under uncertainty, and knowledge of the most promising organizational and governance practices for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Strategies and structures for entrepreneurship by constitutingnew firms:
- Discovering and creating opportunities.
- Attracting and committing human and financial resources into new projects.
- Organizational and governance practices for entrepreneurial firms.
- Firm growth as choice. Internal and networked growth strategies.
Each topic is developed with reference to key case studies, in order to increase the reception and long term retention of the key messages. Students are also allowed to simulate some key phases of the entrepreneurial process . Guest speakers entrepreneurs and early stage investors - are usually invited in some sessions.
Detailed Description of Assessment Methods
There is no difference in the evaluation procedure for attending or not attending students. Students are evaluated on a written exam based on theory and case analysis in any exam session of their choice. The exam is structured into parts according to course structure. It includes some conceptual questions and at least one question of applied analysis of a case.
Extra-points:
Students can gain up to 2 extra-points (to be summed to the test grade) through distinguished (above average) contribution to group case analyses performed and delivered summary written format in class; and the formulation of entrepreneurial projects.

Prerequisites
No formal requisite. Being offered as a 3rd year optional course it is assumed that the majority of students have a basic preparation in organization and management.
