Course Objectives
The aim is to intertwine theoretical intuitions, empirical evidence and policy consequences, with a specific attention to Europe and US.
Course Content Summary
The course is focused on relevant contemporary macroeconomic issues, starting form the causes of the Great Crisis, and then discussing the monetary and fiscal policies before, during and after the Crisis. The modern intertemporal approach to macroeconomics is used, building mainly on tools already developed in the typical first-year macro courses. The presentation rely on real world data and examples, highligting the possible policy implications.
